"Steal and steal, and steal some more, give it to your friends and keep on stealin'". -Trent Reznor in reference to his music.
Husband and I just finished watching The Social Network. I thought the movie was pretty good. But it made me think about something important to me. That something, or more appropriately someone, is Trent Reznor.
My admiration of Trent Reznor began yearsago. He is an indisputably brilliant musician. He and Atticus Ross composed the score for "The Social Network". I didn't notice this in the opening credits, but husband pointed it out when I was delighting in the rendition of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" used in the movie.
It got me thinking about how much I really just like him. I think his influence on the music industry and willingness to do things his own way is admirable. He was named one of the most influential Americans by Time Magazine in 1997 and his influence has only grown since then. I would actually say that I enjoy his work on film more than NIN.
Of course it doesn't hurt that I had a crush the size of Texas on him when I was 15.
